Atlantia, since May 2007 is the new company name for Autostrade S.p.A.. Atlantia, holding company with responsibility for portfolio strategies in the transport and communications infrastructure and network sectors, owns 100% of Autostrade per l'Italia, Italy’s largest toll motorway builder and operator, which together with its wholly owned concessionaires is one of the leading players in Europe.
Over four million travellers use Autostrade per l’Italia 's network every day, generating total annual traffic of over 55 billion kilometres in 2009.
Listed on the Italian Stock Exchange, with a capitalisation of €10.4 billion as at 31 December 2009, Atlantia is one of Italy’s largest companies with turnover of €3,611 million in 2009, EBITDA of €2,204 million and operating cash flow of €1,365 million.
